Privacy and your data

Your diary is kept on your device. Here is what reaches our servers, and what you can take with you.

What it is

Your diary is kept on your device, with an encrypted copy on our servers in Nuremberg, Germany, so it syncs between your devices. We keep a backup key so you can reset a forgotten password, and that key lets us read your diary.

Our server does not save your photo. It passes the photo to OpenRouter (USA), which passes it to Google. The app keeps your plate photos on the device that took them.

How it works

  1. Export your diary at any time as a CSV file or full JSON archive.
  2. Delete your account in the app. Your account and your diary are removed from our server at once. Some records, such as invoices and backups, stay for a time.
  3. On your own copy, your diary stays on your devices and your own server.
The Your data section: a note that your diary lives on this device, and buttons to download the diary as CSV and everything as JSON.
Export your records at any time.

Limits

  • The encryption does not keep us out: we hold a recovery key that can open your diary.
  • Data exports contain logged metrics, not plate photos. Photos stay on the capturing device.
