In one paragraph
openplate is an open-source food diary. Users log what they eat, scan a plate with AI to identify food, and track their weight, goals and fasting. The diary is stored on the user's device. The hosted app stores an encrypted copy to sync devices, and the backup key we keep for password resets can read it. openplate runs in the browser on phones and computers, in six languages, without an app store. Anyone can use the hosted app at app.openplate.de or run their own copy for free. The app and its core server are published under the MIT licence. openplate is made in Berlin.
