BMI calculator
Your body mass index from your weight and height, and the WHO band it falls into.
BMI does not tell fat from muscle. A person with a lot of muscle can have a high BMI and little body fat.
Your BMI
An estimate for healthy adults, not medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18 or under medical care, ask a doctor.
How it is worked out
BMI is your weight in kilograms divided by the square of your height in metres. The bands are the WHO bands for adults: under 18.5 is underweight, 18.5 to under 25 is normal weight, 25 to under 30 is overweight, and 30 or more is obesity.
